Infineon Technologies AG received the Award for Supply Chain Operational Excellence and the Global Award for Supply Chain Excellence. The “Superior supply chain performance is essential for meeting business performance and financial goals,” says Joseph Francis, executive director of the Supply Chain Council. “It takes a real team effort to make sustainable performance improvements across department and organizational boundaries. We commend the winners for their achievements and for sharing their knowledge and application of SCOR with the supply chain community.” * Global Award winner Infineon used the SCOR model to build an agile and adaptable semiconductor supply chain. Hundreds of employees, customers, suppliers and production partners were involved in the 18-month project. Together they created a corporate supply chain organization and an overarching demand-to-cash process. Results included improved flexibility and reduction of total finished goods inventory levels. The results of this project and other business improvements boosted shareholder confidence, which pushed up the company’s share price from below half a Euro to over 5 Euros. * The Operational Excellence award recognizes an organization that demonstrates excellence in the design, operation, or improvement of a supply chain.
