National Retail Systems Inc. (NRS), a provider of logistics services to U.S. retailers, pharmaceutical companies and consumer goods manufacturers, has launched its Vendor Direct Logistics offering for China-based retail suppliers. These services will enable Chinese manufacturers to create vendor-controlled inventory management solutions for retailers in the United States. The service suite includes China transportation services, value-added services, consolidation, freight forwarding, customs clearance, pier drayage, warehousing and distribution.

DB Schenker is expanding its services in European land transportation with additional regular scheduled services, new facilities and advanced technology.

"In many talks we have had with customers throughout Europe, we have established that, even in times of crisis, there is a demand for additional services and new solutions," stresses Karl Nutzinger, as CEO Europe of Schenker AG. DB Schenker plans to target companies in South and East Europe with the new services.

U.S.-based BDP International, a privately-held, U.S.-based third-party logistics provider (3PL), has spun off a new subsidiary company with the intention of becoming a major player in Vietnam's growing logistics sector. The new company, BDP International (Vietnam), will be a fully integrated unit of the parent company.

While the headquarters will be in Ho Chi Minh City, BDP will also have representation in the other commercial Vietnamese centers of Danang and Hanoi.
